Death of Andrew Hamilton Hume The Sydney Morning

Died,
on the 23rd ultimo, at Glenrock, the residence of his daughter, Andrew
Hamilton Hume, Esq., aged 88 years. Mr.
Hume was one of the first colonists, having left England in H.M. frigate Guardian, Captain Rio, in the year
1787; which vessel was wrecked by striking on an iceberg, but fortunately
reached the Cape of Good Hope; deceased remained there until the arrival of
the Lady Julian, in which vessel he took his passage to New South Wales, and
arrived in Port Jackson in 1788. |
