Death of Mr Maidment 1 February 1901 Adelong and Tumut Express and Tumbarumba Post 

We learn by wire from Batlow that Mr. J. Maidment, road contractor, was crushed to death there, between two logs, on Wednesday, last.

No particulars are to hand other than the melancholy result.

Deceased was in town here last week (hale and hearty), with a view to tendering for contracts' that closed on Tuesday last.

He was an old resident of Minjary, and a hard-working, industrious man.
