Miss Mary Barber to Marry in Yass The Sydney Morning

When
Miss Mary Barber leaves Sydney tomorrow morning for Yass, her luggage will
include her tailored satin moire wedding gown for
her marriage next Monday to Mr. Alan Shannan, of Marilba,
Bowning. The
wedding will be celebrated at St. Clement's Church,
Yass, and Miss Barber, who has been the guest of Mrs. H. J Mooney, at Killara, has been doing her last-minute round of
shopping. Her
bridesmaids will be Misses Joyce Shannon and Dorothy Barber, and little Dinah
Barber will be flower girl. The
bride-to-be is the elder daughter of the late Hamilton Hume Barber and Mrs Barber, of Humewood, Yass, and great-granddaughter [sic- Hamilton hume had
no children Ed.]
of Hamilton Hume, the explorer who discovered Yass district, and whose
descendants (sic) have lived there
ever since. |
