Councils 25 March 1977 The

The
NSW Government was preparing a report recommending ways of making
local councils have most of their discussions open to the public,
the NSW Member for Burrinjuck, Mr Terry Sheahan (Lab),
said on Wednesday. The
report stemmed from a meeting of Tumut Shire Council last week which he
attended, but from which the public was excluded. He
had objected several times that the meeting was closed to ratepayers
and had later discussed the situation with the Minister for Local
Government, Mr Jensen. |
