New Post Offices The Sydney Morning Herald 1 April 1843
|
His Excellency the Governor has approved of Post Offices being
established at the following places: Gundagai, situated sixty-five miles from Yass, on the Melbourne Road; Albury, situated one hundred and thirty-five miles from Gundagai, on the
route towards Melbourne; and Armidale, situated one hundred and fifty miles from Port Macquarie, in the New
England district. Parties, therefore, wishing to receive their communications through
any of these offices, should caution their correspondents to address their
letters and newspapers to that office, distinctly by its name, and so provide
against the chance of their being forwarded to any adjacent Post Office of
the same county or district. |
