Ryan Public meeting 5 September 1919 Albury
Banner and Wodonga Express |
A public
meeting was held recently to arrange for welcoming Pte. Ryan, V.C., who is to
arrive shortly. A letter
from Mr. Crook, East Blowering school teacher, asked that that centre be
given the opportunity of co-operating, as Pte. Ryan was a pupil of that
school. The request was acceded to. It was
decided that a children's afternoon be held in the park, also a dinner at 7 o'clock
p.m. in O'Brien's hall, when a wallet of notes will be presented the hero. The
reception committee was offered the right to present a medal to Pte. Ryan on
that day if they so desired. |
