The Explorer Hume. To the editor of the Argus.

Sir- In a letter from a correspondent in Saturday's issue of "The Argus", on the subject of "The footsteps of the Explorers," mention is made of a search party that was sent out under an ex-convict called Hume.

As the name may lead people to connect him with the explorer Hamilton Hume, I hope you will kindly allow me space to explain, in justice to his memory and of his family, that, there was no connection between the ex-convict and Hamilton Hume the explorer.
