The pea rifle has become one of the curses
of life. The nasty little spitfire weapons cause more accidental
deaths than all the shot guns and larger rifles, probably because they are
so often handled by children and fools. At Forbes the other day a five-year-old
boy shot his four-year-old sister, and nearly every
paper contains a report of an accident caused by those useless little guns. |
