Tumut Became a Municipality

On Wednesday last Tumut became a municipality under the name of the "Municipal district of Tumut," as that day completed the allotted term of three months that the petition for incorporation had to appear in the Gazette.

The next step, we believe will be for the Governor to appoint a returning officer and publish the day of nomination. Fourteen days notice of the same has to be given in the local newspaper.
