The
twelfth annual show of the Tumut Agricultural and Pastoral Society, on
Wednesday, was a great success. There were 676 exhibits, and the attendance
numbered fully 1000 people. The horse and cattle sections are remarkably well
filled. The
chief prizetakers were: - Cattle:-
Durhams: James Robinson, of Kimo;
Peterson and Sargood, of Ellerslie;
Brown and Harris, of Tumut. Herefords: Dangar, M'Donald Brothers, of Wantabadgery;
Joseph Lambert, of Tumut; J. Robinson, of Kimo. Devons: H. Wilson, of Gilmore. Ayrshires:
S. Gordon, of Gocup. Dairyman's: E. Brennan, of Gocup; S. Gordon, H. Wilson, R. M'Alister,
of Tumut. Fat Cattle: Peterson and Sargood both
secured special prizes. The other winners were Dangar,
M'Donald, E. Brennan, and K. M. Shelly. The
show within the building was excellent, and the fruit and vegetables were
splendid. D. F. Robertson, of Brungle, took the
special prize for wheat; R. Sturt, of Tumut, the special prize for maize: W.
Bridle, the special prize for fruit. |
