Another very old Tumut resident has passed away. Mr. William Eggleton, sen., after a brief
illness culminating in typhoid fever, departed this life in the 58th year of
his age, on Monday morning. The deceased has for years been afflicted with an ophthalmic disorder,
and some time ago he visited Sydney and underwent severe treatment for the
same. Since his return he has been in a declining state of health, but up to
a few days ago he went to his work in the bush as usual. On Sunday last he became very ill, but managed to dress himself on the
following morning, when he suddenly grew worse and shortly after expired. The
deceased was one of a very large family connection, and a long funeral
procession followed his remains to their last resting place on Tuesday. |
