Movie Premiere - Tumut Cinema Booked Out

The Tumut cinema is "virtually booked out" for tonight's country premiere of the film 'My Brilliant Career' from the novel of the same name by Miles Franklin.

The proprietors, Mr and Mrs Ron Biggs, said yesterday that the theatre seated -500 and many bookings had been received from nearby Talbingo, where the author was born 100 years ago.

One of the actors in the movie, Mr Ted Simpson, of Wagga, would attend the premiere.

The film opens at Civic 1 Cinema, Canberra, and in Sydney tomorrow night.

Invited guests saw a preview at the Civic Cinema last night.
